About the app

Music Player, shown as Statisfy once you're inside, is an offline music player for iPhone. Import your own audio files and play them in the background, from the lock screen, over AirPlay, or from the home screen widget. There is no account, no signup, and no connection required.

Every play is recorded on your device, which turns the Stats tab into a picture of your own listening: most played tracks and artists, the hours you listen, your streaks, and auto playlists like On repeat and Forgotten favorites. Connecting a Spotify account is optional. It simply adds Spotify as a second source alongside your own listening.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get my music into the app?

Open the Library tab and tap Import music. The Files picker opens, and anything it can reach works: files stored on your iPhone, in iCloud Drive, Dropbox or Google Drive. Selected files are copied into the app so they keep playing offline, even if the original is later moved or deleted.

You can also drop files in from a computer: connect your iPhone, open Files → On My iPhone → Music Player, and copy them into that folder.

Which audio formats are supported?

Anything iOS itself can decode: MP3, AAC/M4A, ALAC, WAV and AIFF, plus FLAC on iOS 11 and later. Files protected by DRM (for example purchases from older iTunes libraries, or downloads from a streaming service) can only be played by the app they came from.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

No. Importing, playback, playlists and your listening stats all work with no account and no connection. Spotify is the only part of the app that needs either, and it is entirely optional.

Why are my song titles wrong or missing?

Track details are read from the filename, in the form Artist - Title. Files named something like track01.mp3 will show up exactly that way. You can rename any track from its row menu in the Library.

How do I connect or disconnect Spotify?

Connect from the Stats tab, using the Connect Spotify card, or from Settings → Account. You're taken to Spotify's own sign in page, where you approve access to your listening data, which the app can only read. We never see your Spotify password. Authentication is handled entirely by Spotify using the Authorization Code with PKCE flow.

To disconnect, go to Settings → Account → Disconnect Spotify. Your music, playlists and the listening history stored on this device are not affected.

Why doesn't Spotify show all of my listening history?

Spotify's public API only exposes a limited window: your last 50 recently played tracks, plus your top artists and tracks for three ranges, being the last 4 weeks, the last 6 months, and all time. Older, more detailed play history isn't available to any app outside Spotify.

Your own listening, recorded in the app, has no such limit. It keeps counting from the day you install.

When does a play get counted?

A track counts once you've listened to at least 30 seconds of it, or half its length, whichever comes first. Skipping around doesn't inflate it; only time actually played is added up. You can wipe your history at any time from Settings → Storage.

What does Premium unlock?

Premium deepens the stats: yearly and all time views, listening streaks, comparison between periods, decade breakdown, artist loyalty, your full music personality with every trait scored, the premium share card themes without a watermark, and a personalised weekly recap notification. The player itself and the stats screens stay free.

You can start or restore a subscription from Settings → Upgrade to Premium.

How do I share my stats to Instagram or TikTok?

From the Stats tab, open the share carousel and pick a card: top tracks, top artists, your listening habit, and more. The app renders it as an image sized for stories, ready to post straight to Instagram Stories, TikTok, or any app that accepts images.

How do I cancel my Premium subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, tap this app, and choose Cancel Subscription. You keep Premium features until the end of the current billing period.

Troubleshooting

Before you delete the app: imported music lives inside the app, so removing it deletes your library, playlists and listening history along with it. Keep the original files somewhere else, in iCloud Drive or on a computer, before reinstalling.

  1. Force quit and reopen the app. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen, then swipe the app off the top.
  2. A track won't play? Its file may have been removed. Open Settings → Storage → Clear unused files, then import it again.
  3. Running out of space? The Storage section shows how much your library uses and clears leftover files that no longer belong to any track.
  4. Spotify stats look stale or empty? Check your connection, then disconnect and reconnect from Settings → Account to refresh the authorisation.
  5. Update iOS. Open Settings → General → Software Update and install any pending update.
  6. Update the app. Open the App Store, tap your profile picture, and pull down to refresh pending updates.
  7. Still stuck? Email us with your iOS version and a screenshot.

Your music files and your listening history never leave your device. There is no account to create, no server to sync to, and no analytics or tracking in the app. If you connect Spotify, your data is requested from Spotify only while you're looking at it.
